ATTENTIONPROSPECTIVE SECURITY AND FIRE ALARM LICENSE CANDIDATES
The State of New York requires you to complete and pass an
81 Hour course of training in order to obtain your NYS License.
This course consists of 5 Modules: Installations; Controls & Alarm Transmission; Security Systems;
Fire Technology and Testing &Maintenance.
In addition, you must also successfully pass the New York State License
Exam given throughout the year at various State testing locations.
This course will fulfill the 81 Hour training requirement and help you
prepare to take the NY State Exam.
Currently we offer
this class 4 times a year.

A laptop is recommended for this class.
NICET Level I & Level II Preparation – Hours 30
(Fall Course) 10/16/2017 to 11/15/2017 Mondays & Wednesdays 6:00pm - 9:00pm
This course is for individuals who are preparing for certification testing as a Fire Alarm Technician by NICET (National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies).
A student workbook and copy of NFPA 72, National Fire Alarm Code, are included.
Security and Fire Alarm Installation Practical Course - 48 Hours
This course is a combined 48 hours of class lecture and practical hands-on.
Theory topics will include:
· Fire Codes (NFPA 72)
· Electrical Codes
· Initiating Devices
· Indicating Devices
· Panels (F.A. & Security)
· Card Access
· Door Contacts
Hands-on topics will include:
For Fire Alarms;
· Wiring initiating/indicating devices
· Fire Alarm Panels
· Wiring Devices such as: PIR, Door Contacts and Keypads
· Security Panels
Graduates will receive a Certificate.
Security & Fire Alarm Courses:
Sessions less than 100 hours and more than 10 hours are considered courses. Eligibility for most individual courses will be ascertained through a personal interview with an Admissions Representative or the Director.
