This Course is designed for the individual who wants to learn more about transformers. Topics that will be covered: Transformer Theory: Magnetism, Phase Volt to Line Volt, Phase current to line Current, Turn Ratio, Applied Math NEC Requirement: 250-30 Separately Derived System, 450 Transformer

Connections of Different Types of Transformer: Single Phase and Three Phase Transformers, WYE-WYE, Delta-Delta, WYE-Delta, Delta-WYE, Buck Boost  Hands-On:   Wiring a 45 KVA Transformer, Wire a Buck Boost Transformer
 

6064-Master Electrician License Preparation – 100 Hours

To qualify for a Master Electrician License in Nassau & Suffolk County, individuals must prove 7 years working under a licensed Master Electrician.

This course will prepare you for the practical exams in Town of Hempstead, Town of North Hempstead, Town of Oyster Bay and Suffolk.
You will learn the following:
  • Specific information required for each individual township
  • Method of wiring control circuits
  • How to accurately bend pipe by using formulas
  • Proper circuits & wiring for motor control circuits as they apply to the proper jurisdictions
  • Various formats, tricks and calculation requirements for the various exams
Enrolled students are required to bring 2008 Code Book (available for purchase), Scientific Calculator, Notebook & Pen/Pencil, along with tools and material (list of tools & materials will be provided on the first night and must be acquired by the third night of class).

6077-Basic Estimating - 15 Hours

This course is designed for the individual who wants to learn electrical estimating.  The best chance to succeed in your business is by estimating accurately and correctly.
A laptop computer with a Windows OS and MS Word installed is required.
